John or ‘Fitzy’ isn’t a big believer in titles and describes himself as ‘the bloke who signs the cheques’ but his tax returns show he iscurrently the General Manager of Radio Ballarat Pty Ltd, operators of 3BA & Power FM.  He has spent the majority of his career working in radio and television at both presenter and management level, as well as pouring a few beers in pubs along the way.  With Craig Hutchison he developed AFL Live, Australia’s first Regional only AFL Radio Broadcast heard on over 100 stations across Australia. He has been involved in a broad range of community organisations, most recently as a board member of Ballarat Regional Tourism and Director of the North Ballarat Football Club and previously as chair of the Community Safety Advisory Committee. He believes the most important thing in life ‘is to just have a crack’ and still hopes to be the thirteenth man to walk on the moon!
